Mobile Headsets: Combining Style and Comfort

If you talk on your mobile phone a lot, you may be used to balancing the receiver between your chin and shoulders. However, you will eventually feel that your phone is giving you a pain in the neck, literally. Even if you use your phone rarely, having a poor phone positioning can easily strain your shoulders and neck. Unfortunately, only a few people take advantage of a simple and affordable solution – the mobile headset.

The main purpose of mobile headsets is to allow you to keep both hands free, giving you the freedom to multi-task. It allows you to work “hands-free” while using the computer, drinking coffee, writing notes, moving around and performing other tasks. This way, you get more things done in a day without exerting much effort.

Another huge benefit of mobile headsets is that it keeps your head, neck and spine in the correct position. Thus, it reduces the risk of neck pain, muscle pains, lower back pain and headaches. With a decent headset, you can talk on the phone longer and remain comfortable.

When choosing a headset, comfort is always key. Even the highest-priced model will be useless if the features and design doesn’t fit you right. Since there are various headset models, combining style and comfort depends largely on how you like wearing your headset. For instance, if you’re not a fan of the large spongy object blocking your peripheral vision, then check out a cushion-free headset. If you don’t muss your hair often, then look for an over-the-ear model, instead of wearing a headband-styled model.

Fortunately, even if you talk hands-free on your phone, you can still combine comfort with style. You can go with two types of comfortable mobile headset – over ear or in-ear models. When you choose over ear headsets, you have two options – the over ear clips and flex grips that clip to your earlobe. Unfortunately, both over ear models can be painful after extended use. Your other option is in-ear, also called the ear bud. These mobile headsets can operate without a mouthpiece, but still transmits your voice smoothly. However, an inner ear headset can make other people think you’re talking to yourself when you’re driving in your car.

For best results, try out a couple of in-ear and over ear models for a day in real-world conditions. This way, you can stay away from mobile headsets that bring discomfort quickly. Make sure you’re comfortable wearing, speaking and hearing while using the headset. Lastly, explore all features offered by the headset; any uneasiness should be your sign not to buy the model.

Comfort and style are both personal things. While some people go for trendy mobile headsets, others prefer comfort to style. The good thing about new headset models is that you can now combine comfort and style simply by choosing the best model that fits your lifestyle. Why settle for less, when you can have both? Relieve your neck from stress and pick the most fashionable mobile headset in stores.
